So, let's dive in and discover how to keep your hardwood kitchen items looking their best!

  • Hand wash with warm water and mild dish soap immediately after use.

Avoid soaking the items in water for any period of time.

Do not use abrasive scrubbers or harsh cleaning agents, as they can damage the wood.

Dry thoroughly with a clean towel after washing.

  • Regularly oil board to keep hydrated and prevent drying or cracking. Use food-grade mineral oil or other appropriate wood oils.

Apply a thin, even coat of Toasted Woodworks WoodWax (included with any board purchase) using a soft cloth or paper towel, following the direction of the wood grain.

Allow the oil to penetrate the wood for a few minutes, then wipe off any excess oil.

Repeat this oiling process every few months or as needed to maintain the wood's natural luster and protect it from moisture.

  • Spills & Stains - Clean up spills and stains immediately to prevent them from penetrating the wood.

Exposure to Moisture and Heat - Hardwood kitchen items should not be soaked in water or placed in the dishwasher. Do not expose them to excessive heat, such as placing them near a stove, oven, or hot pots and pans.

  • Store all hardwood kitchen items in a dry and well-ventilated area.

Avoid storing them in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as this can cause warping or discoloration.

Do not stack heavy items on top of each other, as it can lead to deformation or damage.
